You're Only 5 Ingredients Away From Homemade Ginger Ale

While numerous ginger ale brands are available at stores, you can also make your own at home with only five ingredients: fresh ginger root, sugar, salt, limes, and club soda.
Start by peeling and slicing the ginger root until you have 1 cup of it, then add the cup to a saucepan with 2 cups of water. Cover and simmer on low for 20 minutes.
Strain out the ginger pieces, then add 3/4 cup of sugar and a pinch of salt, heating until the sugar is completely dissolved. This ginger syrup can last up to a week in the fridge.
To make the drink, add a quarter cup of the syrup to a glass and a squeeze of lime juice before filling it with club soda and stirring the combination.
