You Can Make Perfect Bread Pudding With One Unexpected Kitchen Appliance
BY Martha Brennan
Slow cookers can cook perfect bread puddings. You can just toss in the ingredients, stir, and give the cooker a few hours to do the work without needing to keep checking on it.
To start, place chunks of some stale bread in your cooker with toppings. Then, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar, and flavorings of your choice in a separate bowl.
Finally, pour the mixture over the bread, stir to coat evenly, place the cover, and set the machine on low. In three hours, all the liquid should get soaked into the bread chunks.
Some slow cookers heat up faster than others, so check on your pudding after two hours the first time you make it. It's done when a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
