You Can Enhance A Classic Manhattan Cocktail Using Chocolate
BY AUTUMN SWIERS
If you love cocktails that combine a sweeter edge with a mature spirit flavor, try making the chocolate Manhattan, a whiskey cocktail with a sweet chocolatey dimension.
The chocolate Manhattan swaps chocolate bitters in place of Angostura, and you can use bourbon instead of whiskey to complement the sweeter dimension.
Start with two parts of your whiskey of choice and one part sweet vermouth. Add two dashes of chocolate bitters, stir with ice, and strain into a chilled glass.
The chocolate bitters bring a toasty, nutty sweetness that complements the sweet vermouth and the smoky richness of the bourbon for a sweet yet mature cocktail.
