Wine And Sweetened Condensed Milk Are An Unrivaled Cocktail Pairing
BY EMMA SEGREST
Aside from sangria or a French 75, you may not want to transform wine into a cocktail, but the trend that combines wine and sweetened condensed milk may change your mind.
Inspired by Brazilian Espanhola, made of red wine blended with pineapple and sweetened condensed milk, the trend is simpler with just red wine and sweetened condensed milk.
The two combine to form a muted purple drink with a creamy consistency and sweet yet mellow flavor that resembles wine ice cream.
Start with a dry wine like Pinot Noir, Malbec, or Merlot, and avoid sweet red wines. Then, add a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk at a time to avoid over-sweetening the wine.
