Why You Should Think Twice About Buying Large Bags Of Coffee Beans
BY AUTUMN SWIERS
It’s best to avoid buying large bags of coffee beans because their quality will go down as they sit around. You can expect a bag to stay fresh for about two weeks.
After two weeks, the flavor starts to deteriorate, and some of the more nuanced notes that convinced you to select that roast in the first place might get lost.
The best thing to do is to buy bags that have just enough to get you through a week or two. This also has the benefit of allowing you to explore other coffee blends and flavors.
You should move your beans into an opaque, airtight container to keep out light and air. Store them in a cool, dark place that is away from any heat sources, such as the pantry.
