Why You Should Make Oatmeal In A Slow Cooker
By LAUREN ROTHMAN
Oatmeal is gluten-free, packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and promotes gut health while helping you feel full. However, if you are looking for a way to streamline your oatmeal breakfast routine, a slow cooker is your solution.
Kitchn points out that making oatmeal in the slow cooker is the ideal mix of practicality and indulgence. For those mornings when many household members will be eating oatmeal, or when they'll be breakfasting at different hours, a pot of slow cooker oatmeal can feed a crowd while staying warm and soft.
To prepare oatmeal in your slow cooker, cook 1 cup of rolled oats and 3 cups of water on low, without stirring, for 8 hours. Starting the oatmeal in the evening before bed works particularly well, and you can add in your toppings in the morning.
