Why You Should Be Considerate When Ordering A Dry Cappuccino
BY MICHELLE WELSCH
Dry cappuccinos focus on reducing or eliminating steamed milk in cups, instead focusing on shots of espresso and microfoam, which creates a time-consuming process.
Frothing milk to make the microfoam demands time spent in front of the steaming wand, and it takes a practiced hand to be able to steam the required amount of milk in one pitcher.
While the process excites some baristas, others may groan at the chore of steaming up extra milk to make microfoam, as well as any customers waiting behind you in line.
When in doubt, ask the barista before placing your order. If they're up to the task and can comfortably manage along with other customers standing in line, they'll tell you.
