Why Meal Kits Could Be A Better Option For Some Home Cooks
By ELIZABETH BLASI
Considering today's supply chain complications, increased gas prices, and general economic inflation, a big trip to the grocery store can cost a pretty penny, and many home chefs are looking for ways to be more cost-efficient. It turns out that meal kit delivery services are a great option to cut costs and minimize food waste.
There are dozens of make-it-yourself meal kit options on the market today, including Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, Home Chef, and Every Plate, as well as fully-prepared meal delivery services such as Freshly, Factor75, and Sun Basket. Any of these can make home cooking more accessible, and menu options can cost as low as $4.99 per serving.
Many meal kit services also offer promotional benefits, including discounts for new customers, cash back services, and even airline miles. Still, every home cook is different, and you should do your own calculations to determine if meal kits will save you money or if your lifestyle is better suited to shopping the traditional way.
