Why Korean Corn Cheese Should Be At Your Next Big Party
By EMILY BOYETTE
Dips are a go-to snack at any party, and although corn dip is an American classic, Korean corn cheese is a fantastic party food that will have your guests begging for the recipe. Traditional corn dip is typically served cold, whereas Korean corn cheese is baked and served up warm with melty mozzarella cheese on top.
Corn cheese tastes amazing when paired with alcohol, and is a popular bar snack in its native country. At a proper Korean BBQ spot, corn cheese is either prepared in front of you or brought out straight from the broiler when still bubbling hot, and to make the most basic version, all you need is corn, mayonnaise, and cheese.
The Kitchn’s version of this dish also calls for pickled jalapeños, scallions, sugar, salt, and pepper. You simply mix all your ingredients together, transfer to a baking dish, bake until bubbling, and then serve the mix of sweet corn, savory spices, and crispy melted cheese fresh out of the oven, either with chips or alongside an entree.
