The holidays got a little more exciting for beer-loving Costco shoppers after a new Kirkland Helles-Style lager appeared on shelves, brewed by Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon.
Deschutes is legendary in the craft brewery scene, so Redditors are optimistic that this release will redeem Costco's earlier disappointing Kirkland light lager launch.
Helles is a light, golden beer with a subtly sweet malt taste, floral notes, and a hint of spicy hop. Its crisp finish is great for bringing some balance to a big holiday meal.
This beer pairs well with white meat, herb-forward dips, and light dishes like salads and charcuterie boards — all things you'd find at a holiday party.
Participating Costcos have a 12-pack of Kirkland lager listed for around $14. For comparison, a 12-pack of Deschutes costs between $20 – $25 at other retailers.
