Why Costco's $100 Ham Leg Is More Than Worth The Price Tag
BY Autumn Swiers
While the $100 price tag may seem high, the NOEL Jamón Serrano Bone-In Ham Leg at Costco is a great deal for several reasons.
The ham is aged for 12 months and weighs 14 pounds. That's roughly $7 per pound of dry-cured, ready-to-eat serrano ham packed with pungent flavor, no cooking necessary.
For reference, a Walmart in New York sells a 3-ounce package of jamón serrano for $14.99, while Amazon sells the same NOEL brand Spanish ham boxed set for $184.
Costco's NOEL Jamón Serrano Bone-In Ham Leg also comes with a heavy-duty wooden stand and a large steel knife, bringing the $7 per pound price down even further.
Multiple Costco shoppers have gone online to praise the ham's taste, with one saying it "tastes exactly like the good stuff from Madrid."
