White Rice Vs Brown Rice: Is There A Nutritional Difference?
By JOHN J LEE
Whether you're choosing between multiple bags of rice at the grocery store or which rice you want from Chipotle, deciding between white rice and brown rice can be challenging. Though they have differences, all rice is made primarily of carbohydrates and has a bit of protein.
One significant difference is that brown rice includes more parts of the rice grain than white rice. These extra parts make brown rice bulkier and give it a bit of a chewier texture, and why it takes longer to cook.
Though brown rice provides a good amount of fiber and certain minerals and vitamins, it does not mean white rice is no good. White rice is easier to digest than brown rice, which makes it better for people with digestive troubles, and can still provide some nutrition.
