When in the mood for an oatmeal raisin cookie, Chef Nancy Silverton frequents a historic spot in the heart of Los Angeles: a building established by Charlie Chaplin in 1929.
The location holds sentimental value for Silverton, as she once operated her own bakery there. Now, the iconic site is home to République, a renowned restaurant, cafe, and bakery.
On Fine Dining Lovers, Silverton expressed her adoration for République's oatmeal raisin cookies, calling them "the best I've ever had."
Notably, these brown butter oatmeal raisin cookies are gluten-free and have found ranking on Foursquare's esteemed list of the 15 Best Places for Oatmeal Cookies in Los Angeles.
Silverton even wrote the foreword for République's baking book. The bakery also offers treats like mouthwatering croissants, cakes, caneles, kouign-amanns, and even pop tarts.
