When Making Eggs In An Instant Pot, Use The 5-5-5 Method
BY ALEX SCHAUER
Overcooking or undercooking boiled eggs is a very common mistake that you can easily avoid by using the 5-5-5 method of making eggs in an Instant Pot.
The 5-5-5 method refers to the timing of the three steps you take to make eggs in an Instant Pot: 5 minutes cooking, 5 minutes releasing the pressure, and 5 minutes in an ice bath.
To use this method, pour 1 cup of water into the pot, put a trivet or basket inside, and put the eggs on top before setting the Instant Pot to high pressure for 5 minutes.
Once done, let the pressure naturally release for 5 minutes. Quickly release any leftover pressure and use tongs to move the eggs into a bowl with ice and cold water.
Let the eggs soak in the ice bath for 5 minutes to prevent the yolk from becoming discolored. This method will ensure your eggs are perfectly cooked and incredibly easy to peel.
