When Air Frying Grilled Cheese, Begin Them Open-Faced For The Meltiest Experience
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
Using an air fryer to make a grilled cheese is the simplest way to treat yourself to the sandwich, and toasting the bread and cheese open-faced first ensures even melting.
For example, if you're making two sandwiches, lay out four bread slices with cheese on top in your air fryer basket. Air-fry the slices for a while to melt the cheese.
Close the sandwiches, then air fry a bit more to finish. The cheese and bread will cook at the same rate, which doesn’t always happen on the stove, for a deliciously gooey result.
