What You Should Do If Your Stand Mixer Is Dripping Grease
BY KAREN HART
Infrequent use of your stand mixer can cause the food-grade lubricant on the gears to drip down the beaters and into the bowl, especially during warmer months.
A simple remedy is to turn on your empty mixer and let it run for a few minutes. Start on the lowest setting, increasing the speed every 30 seconds until it's maxed out.
Finally, wipe down the mixer to remove any excess oil. Running through this cycle bi-monthly will ensure the lubricant stays or moves back to the gears where it is meant to be.
If you run this cycle every two months, yet still find grease leaking out of your mixer, check your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for other possible solutions.
