What You Should Consider Before Storing Leftover Brewed Coffee
By KAREN HART
While coffee often tastes better at a cafe than it does at home, it is much cheaper to brew your own joe, and you may wonder if you can brew a lot of coffee in advance and store it in the fridge to drink throughout the week. Here's what you should consider before storing leftover brewed coffee.
To store brewed coffee, use an airtight container to preserve its flavor and keep out lingering odors in your fridge. The aroma of coffee can soak into a plastic container, making it hard to reuse for anything else, so try using a glass container instead; still, you can use a designated coffee-only plastic container if you wish.
If your coffee is properly stored in the fridge, it's good to drink for 3 to 4 days after you brew it. It won't taste as good as it did on the day you originally made it, but it's nice to know if you need to catch up on sleep or get ready faster in the morning, leftover coffee can be a real time-saver.
