What You Should Consider Before Cooking Bacon On The Stovetop
By ERICA MARTINEZ
The salty, porky, and crunchy taste of bacon makes it a staple in every kitchen. Although there are several ways to cook bacon, it appears that the classic method of popping and sizzling bacon in a pan is the best method.
Because of its high fat content, bacon often sizzles and jumps out of the pan when heated. Besides donning an apron and oven mitts to avoid burns when flipping the bacon, using a splatter screen can lessen the amount of grease that escapes the pan.
A perfect slice of bacon might also depend on the temperature at which it is cooked, and cooking bacon in a skillet that is too hot will cause uneven cooking and rubbery bacon. Instead, set the burner to medium-low heat and raise it until the bacon renders to a golden brown color.
