What Makes Starbucks Regional Landmark Stores In Japan Unique?
By JESSIE MOLLOY
For the most part, Starbucks cafés are consistent worldwide, offering visitors a familiar slice of home, but this is not the case for Japan’s unique Regional Landmark Stores.
There are 28 Starbucks Regional Landmark Stores in Japan, each designed to incorporate local scenery and culture while offering fan-favorite menu items and Japanese specialties.
Many of these cafés occupy 19th and early-20th buildings that have been carefully renovated to preserve their history while still making them functional business and social spaces.
Other Starbucks stores have been built from scratch to suit their environments, like eco-friendly cafes with scenic views, or the peaceful café at the Uji Byodo-In Buddhist temple.
