What Is An Electric Lunch Box And How Does It Work?
By STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
These days, bringing your lunch to work doesn’t have to mean carrying a sad paper bag on your morning commute. There are a variety of lunch boxes out there that are sustainable, insulated, and aesthetically pleasing, but if you really want a state-of-the-art lunch box, try out the electric kind.
While insulated lunch boxes aim to maintain foods’ temperatures, electric ones are designed to heat up cold food so you can enjoy a warm meal on your lunch break. Electric lunch boxes either have an internal battery or are meant to be plugged in, and they can warm up your food for anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.
These appliances are easily transportable, though they’re generally not leak-proof, so they might not work for liquid lunches like soup. Still, if you shy away from bringing food to work, an electric lunch box may help you out since you can enjoy piping hot food while saving money from constantly buying your lunch.
