Utilize Cooking Spray In Your Freezer To Prevent Ice Buildup
BY KAREN HART
You can prevent ice crystals from forming all over your freezer, or get rid of the frost that's already there, by coating the walls with cooking spray like Pam.
Let the spray sit for a few minutes, then wipe away the frost with a microfiber towel. It may feel a little greasy, but it’s the quickest method to de-ice your freezer.
Water and oil do not mix, which is why the ice is so easily broken down by the cooking spray. Use unflavored cooking spray or even glycerin for odor- and residue-free results.
If your freezer walls get snowy very frequently, your temperature setting may be too low. Keep it at 0 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal freezing, without the frosty effect.
