Use Parchment Paper To Cook Perfect Beets In The Microwave
BY ELIZABETH OKOSUN
The microwave can produce delicate, juicy beets that are done in a fraction of the time it takes to roast them. To enhance them even further, cook them on parchment paper.
The parchment paper helps them maintain their beloved texture. It stops them from drying out, keeping their juiciness and flavor intact.
Clean the beets, remove the stems and leaves, and pierce each one with a fork to allow steam to escape. Then, wrap them in microwave-safe parchment paper and put them on a plate.
Heat them for five to six minutes, checking if they're tender enough to be easily cut. If not, microwave them for five minutes more and let them cool before removing the skins.
