Use Egg Noodles In Chicken Noodle Soup For Even More Flavor
BY STEPHANIE MAIDA
Although you can technically use any type of noodle in your chicken noodle soup, egg noodles can add richer flavor and texture to your meal.
In addition to having their own flavor, egg noodles match — and easily absorb — the savoriness of a herby chicken broth, ensuring that each slurp is a tasty one.
Since egg noodles are meant to be eaten soft, you can cook them directly in the broth longer without worrying too much about overcooking them.
Tasting Table's Jaime Shelbert recommends adding the egg noodles to the pot once the broth starts boiling, allowing them to cook for about 10 minutes before adding the chicken.
If you plan to eat the soup a long while after preparing it, cook the noodles separately and add them to the pot just before serving to prevent them from getting too soggy.
