Use Canned Clams For An Easier Take On Your Next Plate Of Linguine
BY MATTHEW SPINA
If you want to prepare a flavorful plate of linguine in minutes instead of hours and at a much more affordable cost, use canned clams instead of fresh ones.
Fresh clams require a lot of preparation, as they tend to be full of sand and need a thorough cleaning, which doesn't pay off that much in improved flavor.
Instead, canned clams only need to be opened and dropped in a pan. They still provide a salty, rich flavor that can be enhanced with lemon juice and red pepper flakes.
The clam juice that comes with canned clams can also be valuable, as it can be thickened with starchy pasta water and used to properly coat the slippery linguine.
