Use Candy Canes To Make The Simplest Heart-Shaped Chocolates
BY MICHELLE WELSCH
You don't need special candy molds to make beautiful chocolate treats. Just use candy canes to make heart-shaped chocolates that are perfect for Valentine’s or surprising a friend.
Just break candy canes in half, then arrange the hooked parts into charming heart shapes on wax or parchment paper. Carefully pour tempered, melted chocolate into the holes.
Warming up the candy canes in the oven for a few minutes, but not long enough to melt or deform them, can help them fuse together and make your chocolates sturdier.
Bake the candy canes until warm, then assemble your chocolates. Try sprinkling toppings like chocolate shavings, coconut, or sprinkles onto the still-liquid chocolate.
Chill the candies until the chocolate is completely solid before enjoying them. Wrap your cute sweets in pretty paper or store them in an airtight container to enjoy later on.
