Trader Joe's Easy-Going Return Policy
By EMILY BOYETTE
Filled with friendly employees, unique in-house products, and free samples, many fans think it doesn't get much better than shopping at Trader Joe's. One of the best things about the company is its return policy, which is very lenient, making pretty much any purchased item eligible for a refund even without a receipt.
Trader Joe’s return policy allows you to get a refund for a food item that's been opened and even eaten, along with other non-food items that you've changed your mind about. You can even get a refund without bringing the original item to the store, or a receipt, if you speak directly to the manager at the manager's desk.
The purpose of this policy is that Trader Joe's wants their customers to feel like they can try different products without the risk of wasting money. However, some TJ's staff aren't huge fans, with ex-employee Lauren Wardini saying, "I had multiple people return plants that they'd obviously killed and then tried to blame the store for it."
