Trader Joe's Debuts A Luxurious Black Garlic Cream Cheese Spread

Trader Joe's new Black Garlic Cream Cheese Spread is a tangy, umami-forward spread dotted with savory confetti of fermented black garlic, dried garlic, and roasted garlic powder.
TJ's describes the spread as having a "curiously complex, subtly sweet" taste. As of early February 2024, the release date and price have yet to be announced.
Black garlic is simply garlic fermented under heat and humidity, resulting in a tangy allium that reduces its sharp intensity and ups the umami with a touch of funky sweetness.
Several foodies have taken to social media to express their excitement regarding the arrival of the product, with one fan already touting it to become their favorite spice.
The Trader Joe's website suggests serving the black garlic cream cheese spread as a bagel schmear, sandwich spread, or a dip for crackers, crudité, and roasted Shishito Peppers.
