Toast Your Dried Pasta Before Boiling For Another Dimension Of Flavor
BY CATHERINE NYORANI
Enhance your pasta dish's flavor by toasting the dried noodles before boiling. Oven-roasting pasta creates a golden hue, aromatic essence, and a nutty taste.
To toast, spread your pasta on a pan, add olive oil if desired, and bake at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Then, remove it from the oven to cool before boiling.
By toasting dried pasta, it acquires the perfect al dente texture, making the noodles ideal for a soupy dish. However, you'll notice that roasted pasta takes a bit longer to cook.
You can soak the pasta in a plastic bag with cold water in the refrigerator for about two hours to rehydrate the noodles so they take the usual time to cook as unroasted pasta.
