This Nespresso Master Origins Pod Has The Most Intense Flavor
BY WENDY LEIGH
Coffees under Nespresso's Master Crafted Single Origins hold multi-layered pockets of intrigue, but one that stands out for offering deeply intense flavor is the India capsules.
Each coffee under Master Origins series is a result of distinct processing methods or unique growing regions, so each coffee capsule carries its own intensity rating.
The lightly colored spring-green India capsule lands at 11 on Nespresso's designated intensity scale. It is a mix of robusta and arabica beans with earthy, woody, and spicy notes.
It is a full-bodied, intensely flavored coffee with low acidity, but what makes these pods truly stand out is a highly specialized custom known as "monsooning."
Monsoon coffees are typically the result of exposing harvested coffee beans to humid winds generated during India's monsoon season, running from June through September.
The dry-processed beans are kept in covered but well-ventilated spaces so they're safe from rain but exposed to the moisture in the air. The process takes up to four months.
