Oats are believed to have originated in places like Iran, Iraq, and Turkey, but because of years of globalization and agricultural industrialization, Russia is now the world's greatest producer. Russia leads the world in oat production with 4,424,433 tonnes annually, followed by Canada.
Oats are a very resilient cereal grain, hence these northern nations produce the most of them globally. Oats can withstand extremely cold temperatures, and these countries have a large amount of undeveloped land for farming.
