These No-Bake Oat Bars Make Use Of Pantry Ingredients You Forgot About
BY KAT LIEU
Use up the ingredients lurking in the shadows of your pantry with a no-bake oat bars recipe that is very versatile.
You can use Medjool dates, rolled oats, slivered almonds, cacao nibs, almond butter, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon. If you don’t have these ingredients, use substitutions.
Soften the Medjool dates with boiling water for about 15 minutes. Once the dates are cool enough to touch, remove their pits and chop them into smaller pieces.
Then mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. In a saucepan, heat up the maple syrup and nut butter, along with the spices, until smooth and well-combined.
Pour this mixture over the bowl of dry ingredients, and mix it until thoroughly combined. Press it into a greased or parchment-lined baking dish and freeze for about 30 minutes.
