The World's Most Expensive Bloody Mary Includes A Rare Bourbon
By MICHELLE WELSCH
In partnership with the popular Bloody Mary mix brand Zing Zang, Watch Hill Proper Bourbon Bar in Kentucky is offering The Zing Zang "Win" Mary, which costs $1,149.
The cocktail is crafted with Zing Zang's Blazing Bloody Mary mix, olive brine, lemon juice, horseradish, and most importantly, Benton's bacon fat-washed Buffalo Trace bourbon.
Mixologist Karla Green dresses up the drink with a rim of bourbon barrel smoked salt, a Tajin citrus wheel, truffle fromage Cheese Whiz stuffed grilled olive, basil leaves, and pimento.
What makes the drink extra special is that it comes with three half-ounce helpings of elite, ultra-rare Kentucky bourbon: Pappy Van Winkle's 23-year, 20-year, and 15-year bottles.
The drink’s stirrer is modeled after an antique pin given to Kentucky Derby jockeys, and was made by Susanne Blackinton-Juaire of S.R. Blackinton, crafter of the derby's trophy.
The Zing Zang-etched crystal cup is also made by a renowned craftsman, Benjamin Giguere of Gather Glass Blowing Studio, and comes complete with 24-karat gold leaf filigree.
Rounding out this line-up are three top-tier snacks: a truffle-crowned wagyu nigiri, a caviar-topped king crab corn dog, and a duck confit and lion's mane mushroom croquette.
Much like the Pappy van Winkle bourbon, the "Win" Mary will be hard to get, as only four will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis in celebration of the Kentucky Derby.
