The Wild Hack That Involves Slicing Potatoes Using Toothpicks
BY Marina S.
When it comes to slicing a potato, the veggie can be sticky due to its starches. Luckily, a toothpick and a piece of tape longer than the toothpick by ¼ inch on each side can help.
Lay the tape horizontally (non-sticky side down) on the counter and put the toothpick horizontally on its sticky side. Then, fix the toothpick-tape combo to one side of your knife.
Doing so adds pockets of air between the knife and the spud when you slice it, keeping the latter from sticking to the former. Be sure to remove the tape before washing your knife.
