The Versatile Green Juice Martha Stewart Drinks Every Morning
Wellness fads seem to come and go, but the practice of drinking nutrient-rich green juice seems like it’s here to stay as an easy way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Celebrity chef Martha Stewart is a self-professed green juice enthusiast, and likes to start off each day with a big glass of her own homemade blend.
Using an industrial-strength juicer, Stewart juices a few stalks of celery, fresh spinach leaves, a cucumber, fresh ginger, and an orange. She does switch up her green juice frequently, but says that it often includes a combination of the above ingredients, plus parsley leaves, pineapple, grapefruit, persimmon, mint, carrot, or pear.
Stewart opts for organic ingredients and believes that switching up your juice is the best thing you can do, since you'll get to use the freshest produce you have on hand without fussily sticking to a recipe. She often enjoys her juice with a breakfast frittata with chopped bell peppers, steamed broccoli, bacon, fresh herbs, and cheese.
