The Unique Method You Should Try For Tasty Fried Chicken
By TALIN VARTANIAN
Fried chicken is considered by many to be the perfect comfort food, with its crackling, crispy skin, tender meat, and savory seasonings. There are various cooking methods to create great fried chicken at home, including brining the meat to make it extra tender, but this alternative method can achieve even better results.
Cooking your meat sous vide before frying will create more tender and evenly-cooked chicken, and the process is very hands-off and has a very slim chance of overcooking the meat. Adding salt and other seasonings inside the sous vide pouch also makes the chicken more flavorful, like a fancier version of a brine.
After letting the chicken cook gently in a water bath, we recommend coating the pieces with a mix of flour and buttermilk before frying them for three minutes, or more or less time, depending on your recipe. Remember that the internal temperature of chicken should be at least 165 Fahrenheit for safety, per the USDA.
