The Unconventional Noodle In Ina Garten's Chicken Soup
By ERIN SHAW
Whether you’re feeling under the weather or just looking for some comfort, here’s nothing more soothing than a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup. Egg noodles are most commonly used in a classic chicken soup, but celebrity chef Ina Garten prefers to use another noodle that makes her recipe super easy.
Garten uses instant ramen noodles in her chicken ramen-noodle soup recipe, as well as scallions, ginger, bok choy, and soy sauce to give it a flavor profile that more closely resembles traditional ramen. It’s a fun hybrid that offers the comforts of ramen and homestyle chicken noodle soup in a short amount of time.
If you don’t have the time for a traditional tonkatsu ramen recipe, which can require a minimum of four hours, this fusion recipe makes the perfect compromise. Garten's recipe highlights how easy it is to be playful when cooking, and how experimenting with different flavors can yield some wonderful and delicious results.
