The Ultimate Brunch Sandwich Is An Egg-In-A-Hole Grilled Cheese
BY MATTHEW SPINA
An egg-in-a-hole involves cutting a hole out of bread and adding an egg so that both cook at the same time. To upgrade this breakfast even further, add some cheese.
Turning an egg-in-a-hole into a grilled cheese provides extra flavor, melty texture, and salt. It's also versatile enough that you can use any cheese you want.
Build a grilled cheese first and then cut out a hole. Cook the sandwich as normal, crack an egg directly into the hole, and cook it to your preferred doneness.
