The Tip To Recall When Adding Red Pepper Flakes To Meat Sauce
BY MOLLY HARRIS
Adding red pepper flakes to meat sauce can be delicious, but not everyone at the table may have the same spice tolerance. There's a way to add spice without it being overwhelming.
Add pepper flakes directly to the meat as it browns. The spice will mainly stay on the meat, rather than being infused into the entire sauce and making the whole thing hot.
If your diners find the sauce too spicy, they can just pick some of the meat out and enjoy the rest of the sauce, which won't be overwhelmed with heat.
Remember that your guests can always add more spice to their plate, but you can’t take the pepper out once you add it to the whole pot of sauce, so being sparing is key.
