The Syrup Inclusion For A Spicier Starbucks PSL
BY VANESSA NIX ANTHONY
The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is great as it is, but you can make it better with some cinnamon dolce syrup, a warm caramel-like flavoring that will add some extra spice.
All you have to do is request a pump or two of syrup added to your pumpkin spice latte. If you'd like to save a few cents, you can even make and add cinnamon dolce syrup yourself.
According to Starbucks' official syrup recipe, all you need is a cup of water, ¾ cup of sugar, ¼ cup of brown sugar, two cinnamon sticks, and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Add all the ingredients to a pan on the stove and heat it until the syrup comes to a boil. Lower the heat so the mixture can simmer and thicken, then let it cool before use.
Take out the cinnamon sticks and add the syrup to a hot pumpkin spice latte, or let it cool and add it to a cold brew. The syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks.
