The Starbucks Reserve Gravitas Blend Includes A Trio Of Rare Coffees
BY LUNA REGINA
For at-home coffee enthusiasts, Starbucks’ Reserve Roasteries offer exclusive coffee blends, including the Reserve Gravitas blend made with three rare coffee beans.
There are six Starbucks Reserve Roasteries around the world, and their Reserve Gravitas is the specialty of Seattle’s Starbucks Reserve Roastery.
The blend is made with a combination of Papua New Guinea Ulya, Sun Dried Ethiopia Konga, and East Congo Lake Kivu for a "big and complex [flavor] with layers of richness.”
The blend sells for $28 per half a pound and is well worth it, with its notes of milk chocolate from the Ulya balanced by herbal notes from the Kivu and juiciness from the Konga.
The dark blend has a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, low acidity, and a delightful citrusy aroma described as a blend of pomegranate and ripe persimmon.
