The Starbucks Frappuccino That Could Change Your Mind About Fruitcake
By MATTHEW SPINA
One holiday tradition that many may feel conflicted about is fruitcake, but when it’s done right, the results are a delicious, moist, and boozy cake. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Starbucks once introduced a Fruitcake Frappuccino that combines the classic fruitcake flavors of spices, nuts, fruit, and toffee.
While Starbucks had a seasonal fruitcake drink on their menu in 2016 — a hazelnut cream-flavored drink with dried fruit, cinnamon, caramel, and matcha on top — it never came back. Luckily, fans have found a way to recreate this drink, making the Fruitcake Frappuccino a secret menu item.
To create your own Fruitcake Frappuccino, start with a white mocha base, then add two pumps of hazelnut and one pump of raspberry. Then, top it off with strawberries and chestnut praline, with a bit more strawberry blended in to achieve the same fruity, nutty, caramelly flavors that you get from an authentic fruitcake.
