The Simple Method To Turn Mashed Potatoes Into A Cheesy Main Course
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
At Thanksgiving and other holidays, mashed potatoes are one of the most beloved side dishes, but they can also serve as a great main course if you add cheese and other mix-ins.
Turn mashed potatoes into a satisfying casserole by adding meat, veggies, sauces, and other ingredients. You'll have a warm, rich, and creamy dinner that’s pure comfort food.
Simply stir the mashed potatoes and other ingredients together and bake it in a casserole dish. It's even more convenient when made with leftover or instant mashed potatoes.
Parmesan, mozzarella, and shredded cheddar are all great choices to pair with the potatoes. You can also add cream cheese for extra creaminess, or sour cream for a little tang.
Butter and eggs can also enrich the potatoes, with the eggs making the casserole fluffier yet more substantial. You can even bake the mash in a pie crust for a quiche-like meal.
