The Secret To Tender, Slow Cooker Beef Tips Is A Splash Of Ginger Ale
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
If you want the most succulent beef possible, try adding ginger ale to your slow cooker mix. The carbonation and acidity work to soften the meat as it cooks.
Ginger ale also contains zingibain, an enzyme that disintegrates connective tissue. It will provide your beef with a boost of sweet, spicy flavor.
Ginger ale's tenderizing properties wear off when heated, so it might be best to use it as a marinade. Add two cups of ginger ale to your marinade along with any other ingredients.
