The Secret To A Nicely Charred Steak Is A Bourbon Marinade
BY LUNA REGINA
Bourbon isn't just for sipping or mixing into a classic Manhattan cocktail — it's a great addition to steak marinades that will result in juicy, beautifully charred meat.
Grab bourbon, Worcestershire sauce, minced shallot and garlic, and salt and pepper. Add them and your steak to a zip-top bag and marinate in the fridge between four and 24 hours.
When cooking, the steak wont burn. The high heat of the grill will burn off much of the alcohol, leaving behind only the sweetness and smokiness the whiskey is known for.
