The Secret For Flavorful Frosting Is Sweetened Condensed Milk
BY LUNA CHRISTINA LUPUS
You don't have to be a professional baker to whip up a flavorful batch of frosting — all you need is a can of sweetened condensed milk.
This frosting is technically called Russian buttercream. It is made of sweetened condensed milk and butter whipped together until airy.
Start by whipping room-temperature butter for five minutes until it reaches a whipped cream-like texture and an off-white color. Then, mix in the condensed milk.
Use the frosting right away or it might lose its smooth texture. You can also mix in food coloring, extracts like vanilla or almond, cocoa powder, espresso powder, or fresh fruit.
