The Reason Your Aperol Spritz Keeps Losing Its Fizz
BY KAT LIEU
The reason why an Aperol Spritz can lose all its sparkling and bubbly magic is because you're probably making it wrong and forgetting to keep it simple and clean.
Start by gathering the ingredients, including ice, Aperol, Prosecco, club soda, and orange slices, and a good container for the cocktail, like a bubble glass or a white wine glass.
Depending on your palate, choose a sweeter or drier Italian sparkling wine. Fill your glass with ice and add 2 ounces of Aperol, 3 ounces of Prosecco, and some orange slices.
Squeeze some juice from the orange slices first before using them as a garnish. Then, top the cocktail with a splash of club soda, which will keep it fizzy and bubbling.
This way of making an Aperol Spritz adheres to Aperol's original recipe, or a three, two, one cocktail build, which the International Bartender's Association has approved.
