The Reason Anthony Bourdain Skipped Ordering Ranch At Restaurants
BY AUSTIN HAVENS-BOWEN
Ranch dressing perfectly dresses up any dish from pizza to chicken tenders, but celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain notably disliked the popular condiment.
During an interview with First We Feast, Bourdain stated, "[Ranch is] not a flavor I particularly understand," but admitted he’d enjoy it “probably all alone with no one watching.”
According to Bourdain, ranch was “cheap” and could overwhelm the taste of the meal, essentially hiding any nuanced flavors or exciting ingredients.
Moreover, unless it was made in-house, you’d probably be served store-bought ranch dressing chock-full of preservatives and artificial flavors.
