The Only Vessel You Need To Make An Iced Shaken Espresso At Home
By STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Starbucks’ iced shaken espresso drinks are incredibly popular, so food bloggers and coffee lovers alike are figuring out how to make these menu items at home. While the beverage’s name makes it sound like a complicated concoction, it’s actually not too complicated to whip up a shaken espresso, and you only need one tool.
To make a brown sugar iced shaken espresso, a popular Starbucks item, you need brown sugar, espresso, ice, and cinnamon, instructs TikTok user @coffeedbybella. Add the brown sugar, followed by hot espresso, cinnamon, and ice to a mason jar with a lid, screw on the top, then shake it all up and add in milk of your choice to finish.
Other at-home recipes call for a cocktail shaker or another air-tight container, which work the same as a basic mason jar. You could also make your own brown sugar simple syrup for a more accurate copy of Starbucks’ Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, which is made with four pumps of brown sugar syrup in the grande size.
