The Only Topping You Need For Exceptional Sweet Potato Soufflé
By MICHELLE WELSCH
A sweet potato soufflé is a delicious yet wholesome treat that could almost make you believe you're eating both dessert and vegetables, but the right topping makes it even better.
Pecans tossed with melted butter, brown sugar, flour, and salt make the perfect topping, creating a sugary, salty crunch that pairs beautifully with the aromatic soufflé.
Toss about 1 cup of chopped pecans with 3 to 4 tablespoons of butter, mix in a sweetener like sugar or honey, then add a little salt and 2 tablespoons of all–purpose flour.
Sprinkle the mixture on top of the soufflé batter before baking the whole thing in the oven. Unlike other soufflés, you should let this one rest for a few minutes before serving.
