The Only Kind Of Credit Card Costco Accepts From Shoppers

Even if you're someone who never leaves home without their American Express credit card, you must have another option in your wallet when visiting Costco, as it only takes Visa.
Costco ended its exclusive, 16-year partnership with American Express in 2016, upsetting shoppers who enjoyed the cash back rewards from their Costco-Amex branded credit card.
That said, Visa and Costco have their own co-branded credit card that gives qualified Costco members the chance to earn cash back rewards on Costco and other qualifying purchases.
